In 1968, my parents retired to West Arlington, VT to a place we call Timberkill Meadows, only a few miles from the covered bridge where Norman Rockwell worked for years. For over three decades, I have been inspired by these curving hills, and I have experimented greatly in terms of space, light, line and texture.  Lately, with ink, I have been creating an interplay between lines as branches, contours and energy.  I am also interested in looking between branches to distant trees, homes and barn.   Most recently, I have begun smaller studies that are often completed on site, during a walk or hike. I have also been playing with ink lines and kanji (Japanese characters) in these studies.
