Most of these were done during my fall sabbatical trip west in 2014, although the three drawings at the end were done in 2005. The top two drawings are quite large: 31″ x 52″. The third one down is of a medium size, the others are small and were done on site, more of my “walk and draw” works. What I discovered in 2014 is that one can easily become lost in the details of this rich and ever-expanding landscape. I would, in fact, encourage everyone to try to draw the Grand Canyon, whether or not you are an artist. It is only by looking and trying to note the details that you can begin to sense the real magnitude and eternal call of this Grand Canyon.
