These works are derived from a visit to Brittany and Normandy in 2007 as part of a house swap.  We visited Ile d’Ouissant, Camaret sur Mer, the menhirs at Carnac and Mont Saint Michel.   On Camaret sur Mer, I was fascinated by the German bunkers from World War II that were still on site.

We went to Provence in 2002.  We stayed for a week at Les Baux, and thus the triptych of the arched castle view, the view down to the roofs and the swimming pool at our hotel.  We tried to climb Mont St. Victoire, the mountain that had so inspired Cezanne. But with three children under my care, I did not hike as far as my husband was able to. The smaller images of the children alone show their excitement before the trip, on the way to the airport, and their exhaustion afterwards, with the list of what they had seen scrawled over the page.
