We visited Great Britain in the summer of 2012, and I was very inspired by these images of Gothic ruins. It is hard for me to draw architecture without getting too tight in my lines. There are also a few non-ruined pieces.

British Ruins III: Tintern Abbey August 2012 pastel and pencil on Arches paper 26 x 26” cost: $25 price: $700 unframed.

Borrowdale from Castle Crag, Lake District August 2012 pastel and pencil on Arches paper 34.5 x 44” $1000.
This work was inspired by a hike with my cousin in the Lake District, one of my favorite places in Britain. I find it interesting to compare that with a hike almost forty years earlier in Lydford Gorge.
